FAO : League Leads -communication from East Region TSG re online courses

Counties and Leagues will be aware of the recent change to the delivery of EN’s Officiating courses from classroom to on-line delivery, with effect from early May, 2021. The EN tracker has gone live on EN website for IOA with roll out from May to September. C online expected roll out June.

Netball East (NE) County Officiating Leads, together with East Region qualified Officiating Tutors, have been discussing the impact this change will have on our Regional Learners, and especially regarding the Into Officiating Award (IOA). Discussions include what practical ‘hands on’ support needs to be in place within each County, following the online training, to ensure a successful transition through assessment.

The NE Officiating Technical Support Group (NE OTSG), therefore strongly recommend that Counties encourage Leagues to ask their Learners who want to commence with their IOA qualification, to refrain from booking any IOA on-line training courses until 1/9/2021. This date has been personalised to our County.  Hertfordshire feels that this allows us time to establish, implement and communicate what our robust ‘support packages’ will look like. As you are aware our support package will include a  2 hour practical workshop and trainee IOA mentors in place in all our Leagues  from September 1st 2021.

As a Region, providing a consistent approach with these new learners is of paramount importance.

Thanks,

Bernadette Palmer

East Region Officiating Lead
