At the England Netball One Awards held at the Motorcycle museum in Solihull on Saturday 19 October, Jan Newton was awarded England Netball Long Service award for giving more than 25 years voluntary service to netball at county, region and national level.
As Jan said when presented with her award, netball has been in her life since she was 8 years old! She started volunteering in 1982 as umpiring rep for Stevenage league and has continued to volunteer in various roles. She is an umpire mentor, umpire assessor, table official, tournament official and tutor.
A well deserved award for Jan – we are very proud of her!!
